2016 Draft Profile - Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk

Strengths : Mykhailuk is a very high upside player thanks to his outstanding offensive ability. He can score from pretty much anywhere on the floor and is one of the best shooters in the draft, especially when he has his feet set in spot-up situations.

He is very skilled on offense with the ability to put the ball on the floor with both hands and hit a number of different shots including floaters, step-backs, and turnarounds. He is also a high IQ player who makes the extra pass.

Defensively, he plays very hard at all times. He is good at getting into passing lanes because of his awareness on that end.

Weaknesses : Mykhailuk needs to develop his frame as he is very thin. Most believe that will come with time as he is very young (was only 17 as a freshman and ineligible for the 2015 draft), but it is still a concern as it effects him on both ends of the floor.

Offensively, he struggles to finish through contact because of his lack of strength and thus he can settle for difficult and well-defended shots. He has a tendency to take far too many of those kinds of shots which severely impacts his efficiency inside the three-point line.

Defensively, the combination of a lack of strength and length makes it difficult for him to stick with the stronger, more polished wings he will have to deal with.
