2008 Draft Profile - Anthony Randolph

Long and athletic swing forward 3/4, has a frame that screams upside, but hailing from a program that traditionally hasn't produced fundamentally sound, basketball skilled players. Would have been better off staying another year from a basketball standpoint, but from a business standpoint….that paper calls. Has a little better feel for the game than the most recent LSU freshmen to bolt, (Tyrus Thomas), but still a bit raw. Randolph could create problems for opponents on defense with his length and athleticism, but is pretty thin and that will hurt him in guarding physical power forwards. Right now, not much more than an athlete, first 2 years of guidance, coaching and dedication will determine if he can become a basketball player.
