2008 Draft Profile - JaVale McGee

JaVale McGee is a surprise entry to the 2008 draft. He was definitely pegged to be a first 5 pick in the 2009 draft. He is the most surprising entry but also the most intriguing.

He entered his Freshman season at the University of Nevada at 6'11" and leaves after two seasons 7'1". He already weighs 240 with a very young body. He blockshots like Tyson Chandler and has a 33 inch vertical jump and dunks like Michael Jordan, as a seven-footer. He can face the basket and create off the dribble like an athletic Dirk. The intriguing question that baffles scouts is not is he a pro? But how good of a pro will he become.

He declared early and hired football famous agents Roosevelt Barnes and Eugene Parker of Maximum Sport's Management. He will be a lottery pick only on the crazy upside that he can become a future franchise player.

He is a physical phenom and has a basketball bloodline. His mother, Pamela McGee played on the 2-Time winning NCAA championship team and was an Olympian.

McGee was on the radar when he played against UNC and had NBA scouts drooling at his foot speed and mobility as a 7 footer.

The sky is the limit, only the weight room, hard work and the gym are between this kid becoming one of the top-50 center/forwards of all time.
