Mario ChalmersHt/Wt: 6-2 / 170 lbs
2008 Draft Profile - Mario ChalmersThere was a great article in the paper that talked about how Mario Chalmers was a Multi Purpose guard. He was the glue that held Kansas together. Mario is a great scorer, a very impressive defensive man, and he can play as a point gaurd, when asked. Perhaps, Mario's greatest strength is his shooting. Some say it might be his defense. Mario led the Big Twelve in steals, which is not an easy conference to lead. He had one of the prettiest shots on the Kansas team. His shooting form was almost flawless. We all remember his beautiful three pointer over Derrick Rose (Memphis) to bring the championship game into overtime. A weakness that Mario needs to work on is his strength. Don't get me wrong, Mario is great at attacking the basket, but imagine how much he could improve his game if he brought his strength up. In my mind Mario is certainly NBA ready, but I think he will be used more a point guard rather than a shooting guard. Therefore, he might need to work more on his passing and finding the open man.
