2008 Draft Profile - O.J. Mayo
Incredible talent; could become a top SG in the NBA. Tons of offensive potential, but needs some work on the defensive end. Would be a GREAT fit with the Bulls, slotting in beside Heinrich in the backcourt. 76ers and Sonics could really use him as well. Projects to be a starting SG now matter he goes.Draft Profile provided by: Brian Mazique - Natural leader with potential for 40 or 50 point explosions on the next level. Mayo must learn to how to pick his spots and remember to keep his teammates involved. He would be best suited playing with a point guard in the Derek Fisher, John Paxson mold, allowing him to control the ball and create for himself as well as his teammates. Would be a great player for a young team in search of an unquestioned and physically capable go to man, (i.e Bulls, 76ers where Iguadola and Mayo would be a great 1-2 punch). Mayo has been a professional for at least 2 years in the way he approaches the game, transferring high schools and choosing USC because of its Cali location. If he is a student of the game he can become a premiere player in the NBA, but could also easily have a Stephon Marbury type career, the quietest 18 ppg and 8 apg, you ever see.
