2009 Draft Profile - James Harden

Crafty left hand guard with a score first mentality. Has the ability to take over the game at any time in the PAC 10, had similar numbers last year to fellow PAC 10 frosh and number 4 NBA draft pick OJ Mayo. He can shoot from the outside or attack defense and create for himself or teammates, as well as make shots in transition. Not a defined NBA position right now. Has very good shooting percentage in college for a guard, may not have the athleticism to create as well at the next level as a point guard, and not the ideal size for NBA 2 guard. Right now his offense runs through him and takes breather away from the ball. At the next level he will need to learn how to run offense through other players which should come naturally with his range to stretch the floor and his vision. Needs to improve on conditioning and strength, shooting off screens, and show he will not be overpowered defensively.
