2010 Draft Profile - Al-Farouq Aminu
Aminu is a great example of a player who greatly improved his draft stock by staying in school for another year. He could have been a lottery pick after a solid freshman season at Wake Forest, but decided to stick around another year to hone his skills. The decision will pay off for him this year. With the early departures of Jeff Teague and James Johnson, Aminu became the focal point of the Demon Deacon offense, and flourished in all areas. He has shown scouts a very polished low post game and has even added a nice outside jumper to his repertoire. Defensively, Aminu is a force. Although he will be a little undersized as an NBA power forward, Aminu shows the ability to get good position and stay on his feet consistently, which will allow him to stay in front of taller, bulkier forwards. With a great upside and an eagerness to improve, Aminu might sneak into the Top 5 and should be a formidable low-post presence right away in the league.Player profile submitted by: Kevin Wagoner

2009 Draft Profile - Al-Farouq Aminu
Aminu is the top rated Small Forward through most of the season, as he’s having a solid freshman season at Wake Forest. He’s played small forward, power forward and center this season, mainly due to his excellent athleticism and 7 foot 4 wingspan. Is an excellent rebounder. Decent ball handling skills, improving as the year goes on. Explosive jumper. Gets to the line often but needs improve free throw percentage.Shows excellent potential but could use an extra year in college to work on his game. Needs to work on his outside shot, improving on 3 point range and consistency. Adding strength would also help him.
