2011 Draft Profile - Kalin Lucas

Lucas gets to almost anywhere he wants on the floor. He is quick and great ball handler and floor general, and played in his fare share of big games and has a reputation of being clutch. As a shooter he may not have NBA 3 point range yet but you have to guard him at mid range. Ultra competitive he will enter the draft with 4 years of major college experience and a good resume of individual and team success which holds good value at the PG position. Also is a high character guy.

Being that the big 10 is a slower conference it may make him look quicker than he is, and most scouts are going to doubt that his skills will translate to the NBA. The fact that he has had knee injuries also doesn’t help. Slightly undersize his game is not versatile as he needs to be running the point with the ball in his hands to do what he does best. A solid defender, Kalin may need to make ball defense his calling card to make an NBA roster. He has had a great college career, however he will need to continue to show a giant-size desire to play at the next level./
