2011 Draft Profile - Malcolm Lee

At 6ft 5 200lbs Lee is long, lean, muscular frame, versatile and comes from a great program. Plays minutes at either guard position, he showed flashes of taking over games offensively, good outside shot but streaky. Sees the court well and good ball handler, facilitator at PG and defends the position well with his length.

Malcolm didn’t score consistently enough in college, or have the upper body strength to play wing in the NBA. Average at best athleticism and shooting by NBA standards. Lacks offensive creativity at PG, started for UCLA in their down years.

The fact that he is drafted is due to a weaker draft and somebody liking UCLA on his resume. Remember Matt Barnes was a 2nd rounder coming from Westwood and has carved out a nice career. This is a poor man’s Javaris Crittendon. Likely a D-Leaguer and overseas player.
