Nikola MiroticHt/Wt: 6-10 / 225 lbs
2011 Draft Profile - Nikola MiroticStrengths: Great 3-point shooter who puts nice touch on the ball. Can put the ball on the floor and pull up for a mid-range jump shot. Passes the ball well for a player his size (6'11). Has shown the ability to block shoots around the paint. Works well in the post and can shoot over smaller defenders. His offensive and defensive rebounding ability is good for a offensive minded forward. Has improved his post game over the last year. A good free throw shooter (85.7%). He displayed his ability to play with the NBA's top NBA draft prospects with a solid performance at the Nike Hoops Summit.
Weaknesses: Poor defender outside of the paint. Will get overly confident in his shot. Not overly athletic and will struggle to keep up in the NBA. He needs to add 15-20 pounds as he is still a little skinny for a SF/PF in the NBA. Still not sure he wants to leave Spain to play in the NBA.
Overall: Nikola Mirotic is a three-point specialist whose NBA career will rest on his ability to develop a more defensive game along with adding more strength to compete within the NBA. If he improves his defense on the perimeter, he will be a serviceable starter at small forward. If not, he will only see limited minutes in situations that call for quality three-point shooters. His stock will move around depending on a team's need for a three-point threat that still needs development. He's most likely a late 1st to mid 2nd round guy.
