2011 Draft Profile - Tobias Harris

A high character kid whose attitude and work ethic will add a lot to his team to go along with a great deal of talent, and the fact that he doesn’t turn 19 until summer makes him even more impressive. At 6ft 8 225lbs he already has a good body that is not done developing. Versatile player can play either forward position, sees the floor and handles the ball well, rebounds, slashes and is unselfish. As he develops I think his greatest strength will be a mid range game, he has broad shoulders, good length and a nice touch and will be able to score through contact. Also will commit to defense and is a team player.

As Harris develops he has less and less weaknesses but lacks an element to his game that stands out. Right now I call him a combo forward for his versatility but also in part to the fact he is a little undersized for PF and lacks the range and quickness to play SF.

Harris will be a good pick, I think he is a role player right away with the potential to be a key player on a good team. I would like to see him fill out more physically to become a PF where he will excel at a one on one mid range game. I see him being a combination of Jeff Green and Paul Millsap down the road.
