Travis Leslie
Ht/Wt: 6-4 / 202 lbs
Position: SG
Team: Georgia
Class: Junior

2011 Draft Profile - Travis Leslie

Leslie has superb athleticism, very explosive and strong, absolutely launches himself at the basket fearlessly. At 6ft4 210lbs he has great strength, and plays big enough to get minutes at sf. Very active player rebounds well, gets blocks and steals. He doesn’t try to do too much, his greatest strength is in transition or early offense where he can attack the basket. He has showed tremendous improvement at the FT line. With his athletic tools he can be a good defender at the next level.

He didn’t show the improvement you like between soph and jr yr. Not a good outside shooter or much of a pull up game. He relies heavily on his explosiveness, can get out of control handling the ball.

Leslie is a guy that can make highlight reel plays, but has not proved to be a well rounded player. He may be rushing to the NBA and benefit from a lot of prospects staying in school because of lock out concerns. He has unique athleticism even by NBA standards but will not do a lot in the flow of the offense, instead scoring on transition, broken plays and crashing the boards or a designed ally oop. You hope that he will be defensive minded at the next level which will give him a shot and in time develop some offensively. Right now he is a bit player who will get spot minutes and bring great energy to the floor.
