2012 Draft Profile - Festus Ezeli
Ezeli projects as either a four, or an outright center. It sort of depends on if he's done growing or not. As a senior, this might indicate he's destined to be seen as a four. Ezeli's strengths are in his physical make up. He has an insane wingspan, but more importantly, possesses a real core strength. He projects to be a Kenyon Martin type of enforcer four. He has improved his sense of the game dramatically over the last season. No longer is he a walking turnover. He may never be a great passer but he's now at least a competent one, and he has improved his general ball handling quite a bit. He remains a defensive force, and thats what GMs are going to look at first. His post up game is marginal, and he cant shoot --- but he has big hands and is strong and wont' be moved out of position. How much upside he has is open to debate, but Ezeli might well creep up to the bottom of the first round because you cant teach 6'11" and 260lbs. Ezeli isn't really a project at this point, either. He has learned the game and knows what his role is. His senior year has improved his draft stock a lot.Player profile submitted by: John Steppling
