2015 Draft Profile - Aaron White

Strengths:
White is a very intriguing prospect who thrives in transition and is one of the best finishers at the rim of any player available in this draft.

This past season, White had the most win shares seen at Iowa since the 1997-98 season. He's a very mobile big man who loves to get out and run. White is very effective finishing at the rim where he shot 72 percent last season, and his constant activity allow him to be a major factor on the offensive glass.

His numbers improved across the board during his time at Iowa, which shows his work ethic and ability to develop into an all-around player. He is solid offensive from nearly everywhere, scoring from the post and mid-range and working on his three-point jumper. He is also an excellent passer who can set up teammates due to his high basketball IQ.

His measurables and physical tools aren't the greatest, but very few players are as active and work as hard as White, and that is something that you can't teach.

Weaknesses:
Although White plays hard and tough, there's concerns on whether or not he's NBA caliber type of player physically or athletically.

Though he has decent size at 6'9, he doesn't necessarily have the bulk to bang with NBA-caliber power forwards regularly. He doesn't have the length and athleticism necessary to make up for his lack of strength either, so it seems unlikely he can guard bigs. However, he doesn't have the speed to keep up with wings either.

Because of this, it will be imperative for White to improve his jumper and become more consistent from outside. Although he shot from three fairly well this past season at Iowa, the majority of his baskets come around the rim. Those points will be much more difficult to come by in the NBA and perfecting his jumper would go a long way towards making things easier on himself.
