Position: PF/C
Team: UC Santa Barbara
Class: Senior

2015 Draft Profile - Alan Williams

Strengths
Williams is a very productive big man on both ends of the floor. Although being listed as a power forward due to lack of size, he plays just like a center. His wingspan is over seven feet, making up for his lack of height.

Offensively, Williams is a great post presence with the ability to score down low with his brute strength and impeccable touch. He also always works for positioning in the post and moves well without the ball, screening or getting himself set up on the block.

Defensively, he is a terrific rebounder and good shot blocker that can stop ball penetration in the paint. Statistically, Williams put up great numbers in the last three seasons at UC Santa Barbara. He still needs to figure out what position he'll fit in playing in the NBA, but if he gets his rhythm right, Williams can be a good pick up in the upcoming draft for many teams.

Weaknesses
Although Williams plays like a center, he's a bit undersized even at power forward. To go along with this, he also lacks elite athleticism that can cause concern for NBA teams considering drafting him. Williams also been known for being foul-prone, committing silly fouls as well when he's winded.

Being winded has been a big problem for Williams, constantly having to be subbed out of games for lack of conditioning throughout all his years in college. Though as one of the highest usage players in college basketball, there may be a legitimate reason as to why he gets tired.

His shot selection can also be poor, occasionally trying to do too much on offense. However, this may be due to being in a mid-major school with minimal talent around him. If he can add more range to his offensive game, Williams is a player that can be a solid pick up for teams in the upcoming draft.
