2015 Draft Profile - Chris Walker

Strengths
If the NBA would to draft players based on body physique, Walker would be a first-round choice. Although his stats makes one wonder why he's even declaring for the draft, Walker has a lot of potential to play in the NBA. He has great size at six-foot-ten and a wingspan over seven feet to go with it. Walker is an elite level athlete that can jump out the gym. He's a long, wiry power forward that is very explosive on both ends of the floor.

Walker is great in transition, using his athleticism and ability to run the floor well to finish at a high percentage on fast breaks. His perimeter game is still a work in progress, but he has shot the ball better from the perimeter and his range is improving.

His athleticism also helps him on the defensive end. Walker is a great defender who can guard multiple positions due to his length and quickness. Although he lacks strength to guard bigger power forwards, Walker is still a good shot-blocker and is very active on the offensive boards.

Weaknesses
Although Walker possesses the body frame and athleticism that every NBA executive dreams of, he never lived up to his expectations coming into Florida as one of the ten best players of his 2013 class. That being said, Walker enters the draft with a chip on his shoulder

His offensive game still relies too much on strictly athleticism. He hasn't developed a go-to move in the post and his perimeter game isn't quite developed enough so he has to rely on others to get shots for him most of the time. His free throw percentage is also abysmal and will need to improve drastically.

Defensively, Walker has great length but still lacks strength to guard bigger power forwards than him. He was very inconsistent at times while at Florida, and could be seen taking plays off. While the potential is there, Walker has to continue to develop, particularly on offense.
