Dakari Johnson
Ht/Wt: 6'11" / 263 lbs
Position: C
Team: Kentucky
Class: Sophomore

2015 Draft Profile - Dakari Johnson

Strengths
Johnson has outstanding size for a center at seven foot, 263 pounds. Although playing limited minutes due to Kentucky having a strong front-court with Karl-Anthony Towns and Willie Cauley-Stein, he still managed to be a major presence on the offensive glass.

His biggest strength is his toughness that is shown with his energy and constant effort on defense boxing-out defenders. He also has a strong frame that allows him to have deep post positioning on offense. Johnson's length also helps him on both ends of the floor, stretching over nine feet to contest shots and score over defenders.

Weaknesses
Although Johnson has a lot of upside to him, he has a lot of significant concerns that would question his ability to succeed at the next level. Johnson's offensive game needs a lot of work and he struggles at times to convert even some of the easier plays around the basket.

Johnson does not have quick feet to get off the ground and struggles when defending outside of the paint. He is not incredibly explosive and lacks lateral quickness. His conditioning also leaves a lot to be desired.

Although his help-side defense did improve due to Coach Calipari making this a priority at the start of the season, Johnson still must continue to make defense a priority with the huge size he presents.

He enters the draft with many concerns but with improvements to his movement and offensive efficiency, Johnson may be a player that can contribute as a rookie.
