2015 Draft Profile - Jordan Mickey

Strengths
Mickey has a great combination of length, skill, and explosiveness. He is a productive player who has the ability to shoot, rebound and most importantly, block shots. He led the NCAA in blocks at 3.6 BPG this past season at LSU in large part due to great timing and athleticism.

Although he is a little under-sized at power forward, Mickey makes up for it with a wingspan of about 7'2. His length also makes him a great rebounder.

He's improved his offense as well adding a mid-range jumper to his arsenal, to go along with his ability to attack the basket with aggressiveness. Mickey finishes extremely well above the rim, using his athleticism and length to leap over defenders. He also runs the floor very well and has good hands to go along with it.

Weaknesses
Although his athleticism and long wingspan to make up for his height, Mickey is still undersized at the power forward position. Along with this, a big weakness in his game is his overall strength. This is a huge concern, especially defensively, where he already struggles to guard big, powerful post players down low.

He also struggles being double teamed in the post, as he turns the ball over or takes difficult shots instead. Mickey's footwork and back to the basket game can improve as well, as he relies on athleticism and length to score over defenders right now.

His consistency with his jump shot is also a weakness that Mickey needs to work on to succeed at the next level. Although he does have a mid-range game in his offensive repertoire, he can get into dry spells quite often. Being undersized, Mickey may want to also develop a three point game since he may see himself potentially playing the wing in the NBA.
