2015 Draft Profile - Michael Frazier

Strengths
Although struggling to get his old rhythm back after missing seven games this season with a high-ankle sprain, Frazier enters the draft known as one of the best jump shooters this class has to offer. Frazier has shot from anywhere on the floor and can make any defense pay when sagging off on him. He has very deep range and is extremely lethal when spotting up around the perimeter. In his sophomore season last year, Frazier set the Florida record for three-pointers made in a game with 118.

Although known as a three-point shooter, Frazier also has the ability to knock jumpers down from inside the line. He has a good mid-range game and knows how to move off-screens without the ball. Frazier also has a very quick release on his jumper, which he uses to his advantage.

Defensively he doesn't stand out like he does on offense, but Frazier is an average team and individual defender. Although being undersized for a shooting guard at six-foot-four, he has an estimated six-foot-nine wingspan that helps him defend bigger guards. He still has a lot improve on, but Frazier is a hard working player that strives to get better daily.

WeaknessesAt times Frazier can be a bit one-dimensional offensively, looking only to shoot jump shots instead of creating more going to the basket. Frazier being undersized as a shooting guard entering the draft is also a worry. Frazier does have a long wingspan to make up for his size, however he still needs to add strength to be able to guard bigger and stronger guards in the NBA.

Adding to his lack of size, Frazier also needs to improve his ball-handling skills seeing that he might play a combo guard role at the next level. This will help him shoot higher-percentage shots while also allowing him to effectively create his own offense as well as for other. In general, he will need to learn to attack the basket more as opposed to simply relying on his jumper.
