2016 Draft Profile - Henry Ellenson

Strengths: Henry Ellenson has been compared to Kevin Love by some scouts and considering his vast array of skills, that comparison makes sense.

Ellenson is an extremely skilled big man with an advanced post game. He is comfortable around the rim, able to score with either hand down low. He also possesses excellent footwork around the basket.

Ellenson can also operate on the perimeter as he has shown solid ballhandling ability for a big man. He has a great jumper with range out to the three-point line and overall possesses a complete offensive game.

He is a very good athlete as well. He is mobile for his size and has solid quickness on both ends of the floor. He plays with a high motor and works hard whenever he is on the floor.

Weaknesses: One worry about Ellenson is his stamina. He must get in better shape and while he has dropped over 30 pounds in the last couple of years, but that will continually be a question for him.

Defensively he needs work as he is only average at best. He has the necessary tools to be a factor on that end of the floor thanks to his length and athleticism, but he has yet to put it together.

Ellenson’s shot selection will also need to improve as he can force some shots or settle for difficult, contested ones.
