2016 Draft Profile - Stephen Zimmerman

Strengths: Stephen Zimmerman is an intriguing big man prospect who has a lot of tools that could translate to the next level. Physically he has the height, length, and athleticism to be a factor on both ends of the floor.

Offensively he has a diverse skill-set, capable of playing both inside and out. He can score in the post and is comfortable facing up and putting the ball on the floor. He is also solid as a mid-range shooter and has the potential to stretch his jumper out to three-point range.

On the other end he has a ton of potential as well thanks to his length and mobility. He does a good job on the pick-and-roll containing the ball handler and recovering back to his man. He also knows how to use his size to alter and block shots.

Weaknesses: There are definitely a couple of things holding Zimmerman back and probably the main issue pertains to his toughness and motor.

He lacks strength to consistently bang down low with top flight big men and his effort can wane at times. This can lead to him disappearing on the floor sometimes.

Offensively he needs to continue to develop his low post game as he is more comfortable facing the basket than backing down his man.
