2016 Draft Profile - Taurean Prince
Strengths: Taurean Prince may not have the upside of some of the other prospects, but he is the prototypical NBA small forward in this ‘3-and-D’ era.Defensively he has a ton of potential as he has the quickness to guard multiple positions at the next level. He is even capable of playing some small ball 4 in the right situations.
Offensively he has improved as a shooter, especially in catch-and-shoot situations. He is also able to put the ball on the floor when guys close out too hard. Prince has a very high motor and never stops playing hard on either end of the floor.
Weaknesses: While Prince has the physical tools, he still has some improving to do on the mental side on both ends of the floor.
Prince isn’t the best passer and can hold the ball at times instead of keeping the ball moving. His decision making could also use some work as he can make an immediate decision as to what he wants to do instead of taking what the defense gives him.
Defensively, he could stand to get stronger as he can get pushed around some. He will also need to work on recognizing things when defending away from the ball as his rotations can be late.
