2017 Draft Profile - Anzejs Pasecniks

Strengths: Anzejs Pasecniks, a 21-year-old center out of Latvia, possesses great size at 7’2 with an incredible 7’6 wingspan. Most players that size are slow, but Pasecniks can actually move pretty well.

He will thrive in the pick-and-roll game, finishing well above the rim, and he also has demonstrated an ability to score off the dribble and score from deep. He has shown that he can knock down threes in catch and shoot situations.

His biggest strength as a defender is his ability to use his size as a rim protector. He should be able to block shots and rebound at a high level, which is what NBA teams look for in a center.

Weaknesses: To continue to improve on the defensive end Pasecniks still needs to get strong and add some weight.

Offensively he can knock down shots and score off the pick-and-roll, but he currently does not have any post moves.

His shot is also a little too slow, so if he wants to be able to stretch the floor and consistently make threes then he needs to work on getting his shot off quicker.
