DJ Wilson
Ht/Wt: 6'10" / 240 lbs
Position: PF
Team: Michigan
Class: Junior

2017 Draft Profile - DJ Wilson

Strengths: Wilson made himself stand out during the NCAA Tournament this past season. He moves with fluidity and runs the floor well even at 6’10”. He works well without the ball and often finds holes within the defense for good looks.

His shooting from the perimeter is also good and has the potential to be a stretch forward. It will make opposing defenses play honest and leave the rest of the floor open for his teammates.

He finishes well at the rim and uses his body well to get himself into position to get clean looks. His length at the defensive gives opponents problems and is able to close out on opponents well.

Weakness: Wilson’s must work on being more consistent. He already possess good qualities, he just needs to learn how to maximize them. He sometimes settles for jumpers instead of utilizing his length and finishing at the rim.

His passing skills are not the best so he needs to develop as a passer at the next level to become more an offensive weapon. He will also need to become more physical. His body frame should allow him to hold his own down in the post against opposing forwards and centers.

If he really wants to find succeed as a player at the next level he must become better on the boards. Last season he only averaged 5.3 rebounds per 30 minutes. That simply cannot happen given that 6’10”. It is going to take some time and work but Wilson can become a solid player.
