2017 Draft Profile - Ivan Rabb

Strengths: Ivan Rabb is very active on the offensive end of the floor. He runs the floor extremely well, and finishes at the rim better than most. He has developed some nice post moves in his time at Cal, and his baby left hook shot is unstoppable.

His length helps him on the defensive end of the floor, where he is an elite rebounder and shot blocker. He knows how to bait defenders into him and then out of nowhere blocks their shot.

One quality Rabb possesses that you can’t teach is hustle. He is in outstanding shape and gets up and down the floor better than any other college big man. That hustle also helps him on the offensive glass, where he thrives.

Weaknesses: He needs to get stronger as he does not yet have the size and strength to bang in the post with NBA big men.

He also doesn’t have too many skills offensively outside of his hustle. His jump shot needs a lot of work, and the southpaw doesn’t really finish with his right hand ever.

Lastly, he needs to work on his on-ball defending. He is a great help defender, but does not have the lateral quickness to guard on the ball.
