2017 Draft Profile - OG Anunoby

Strengths: Anunoby has the physical tools to be a force at the NBA level. He has good length to play the power forward position and can cover a lot of ground with his long strides. His body frame allows him to work towards the basket for high percentage shots.

He is an above average leaper that helps him sky to the basket with relative ease. He is also very good at absorbing contact when driving to the basket. When he is positioned down on the block he has solid footwork to get past his defender.

On the defensive end he can guard at least four positions, which shows his great versatility. He is very quick laterally and has great anticipation. While he can guard the perimeter well he can also defend the post. His wide base helps stand his ground against bigger competition.

Weaknesses: He needs to develop better consistency with his jump shot. He has an inconsistent release that stems form his lower body mechanics. Creating his own offense is a bit of struggle for him but with some good coaching and hard work he can improve his game.

Improving his ball-handling skills would also benefit him. The ball tends to slow down his momentum, which puts him in difficult situations where he has to pick up his dribble and has to find a way to get the ball out of his hands.

He also has a tendency to play with his head down. That doesn’t allow him to see what else is going on the floor and makes him a liability in help defense situations.
