2017 Draft Profile - Semi Ojeleye
Strengths: Ojeleye is a athletic specimen, listed as one of the most gifted athletes in this year's draft class. His leaping ability is a major plus, while his 241 lbs. frame shows that hasn't sacrificed much for an increase in strength. That strength has translated onto the offensive end, not scared to absorb contact and using it to create separation. The junior is a hard worker on the court, with certain intangibles that every coach hopes for. Capable of making mid-range and three-pointers off the catch, with a compact shot. Has also added a dribble in and pull off the pick and pop, a capable third option if he doesn't shoot or drive in.
Weaknesses: Although his strength helps dramatically on the defensive end, he is a small-sized power forward more than a small forward. He doesn't have a consistent jump shot off the dribble, often relying on line drives to score.
Ojeleye relies on his right hand more times than not, which capable defensive assignments quickly can pick up. He also struggles on finishing drives at times, especially when he can't get all the way to the rim. His adjustment to the NBA physicality and three-point line may take some time.
