2017 Draft Profile - Terrance Ferguson

Strengths: At 6-foot-7 Ferguson has the size to be a highflying wing at the NBA level. When he shoots the ball he gets great elevation that allows him to rise over his defender. He shows he is effective in catch-and-shoot situations because he sets his feet quickly and does not waste any time with his shot motion.

His calling card might be on the defensive end as he is a strong on ball defender. He is very active and shows engagement on that end of the floor. If he develops well he can turn into a very good 3-and-D type of player.

He doesn’t try and do too much; he stays within the flow of the game. He is a great team player and has a likeable personality. He understands his role and tries his best to fulfill his duties.

Weaknesses: If he wants to make an impact on a nightly basis at the next level he needs to get stronger. Even though he has elite athleticism, he hardly shows it in games especially in half-court sets.

His ball-handling skills also need to improve if he wants to become a complete player. He doesn’t have the best playmaking skills, but with experience and hard work he can develop those.

If his shot is not falling he doesn’t provide much offense. He needs to improve his scoring arsenal because at the moment he is very limited in his offensive game.
