Robert Williams
Ht/Wt: 6' 9" / 237 lbs
Position: PF
Team: Texas A&M
Class: Sophomore

2017 Draft Profile - Robert Williams

Strengths: Williams’ physical tools are superior to others in his class. His 7’4” wingspan gives elite level length when he goes up against forwards at the next level. His rebound ability is great to due to his size.

As far as his offense game goes, he shows great potential. At the moment he is a little raw but shows promise with his footwork and touch around the rim. In the open floor he showcases his fluidity and run/jump ability.

For his size he has good passing ability. That makes it difficult to double-team him because he gets the ball out to whoever is open. He also is comfortable taking midrange jump shots and with good coaching he can maximize his tremendous upside.

Weaknesses: Even though it is not a bad thing, he can be a little to unselfish at times. Being a late bloomer he needs to boost his confidence. He relies on his elite athleticism to get by without utilizing a high skill set.

Given that he is a quality shooter he needs to improve on his free throws. He also is prone to making mental mistakes but as he gets older his basketball IQ will increase and that should eliminate those mistakes.

Must also work on sealing his man and setting up a wider frame down on the block. He has tremendous potential to be a great athlete given his physical attributes, but if he wants to become a great player he needs to put work and dedication in improving his game.
