2020 Draft Profile - Aleksej Pokusevski

Jeremy Woo - Sept. 16th: "Oftentimes the “mystery man” designation feels cliché and unhelpful; Pokusevski wears it particularly well. He’s the youngest player in the draft and has unusual ball skills and shooting proficiency for someone his size, but he spent the past season in Greece’s second division, which was not a particularly challenging level."

NBA Draft Room - July 6th: "A lanky, versatile big forward with a high skill level and a lot of promise. Has a nice feel for the game, really knows how to pass the ball and make the right decisions. He’s really a 7-0 guard who makes dribbling and passing the ball look effortless."

HashTag Basketball - July 1st: "He rarely looks to score in the post because he lacks the strength to move guys. This lack of strength also shows up on defense as he can be moved off the spot rather effortlessly, especially by NBA big men. Pokusevski does make up for his lack of strength with his great length."

USA Today - June 25th: "He’s just 18 and does not have a lot of top-level pro experience in Europe. He needs to work on his shot and get stronger so he can absorb contact but there is a skillset that makes him an appealing NBA prospect."

NBA Draft Room - May 26th: "Tall, thin and talented with a lot of upside to grow into. Can shoot the rock from deep and take his man off the dribble. A skilled passer and dribbler with advanced ball skills for a young 7-footer. "

Kyle Boone - CBS Sports - May 26th: "Aleksej Pokusevski who, at 7-feet tall, has the mobility, shooting, dribbling and scoring of a wing. But he's also just over 200 pounds and physically a year or two (or three or four) away from contributing meaningfully at the NBA level. He's an investment that could pay off but it won't be immediate."

Jeremy Woo - SI - May 6th: "He’s the youngest player on this board and his ball skills, shooting and fluidity at his size are highly unusual, but he’s so physically frail and ill-suited to play on the interior that he may never have a real chance of contributing on a regular basis in the NBA. He has the size to play center, but may never fill out to the point where he can actually do the job."

Jeff Goodman - Stadium - May 6th: "He’s a project, but he’s every bit of seven feet and is very skilled."
