Anthony Edwards
Ht/Wt: 6' 5" / 225 lbs
Position: SG
Team: Georgia
Class: Freshman

2020 Draft Profile - Anthony Edwards

Jeremy Woo - Sept. 16th: "While he was at times an uninterested defender, he has the physical capacity to defend opposing ballhandlers late in games, and given how much was asked of him on offense as an 18-year-old freshman it’s hard to hold him to a ridiculous standard on that end."

Gary Parrish - CBS Sports - July 6th: "Anthony Edwards is a big, strong and athletic guard who is one of at least four players who could reasonably be selected first overall. The 6-5 freshman averaged 19.1 points and 5.2 rebounds in his one season at Georgia but only shot 40.2% from the field and 29.4% from 3-point range. "

NBA Draft Room - July 6th: "Anthony Edwards is a top 3 pick in this class and has a real chance to go no.1 overall. He’s not a perfect prospect but he’s got big time upside and really rare athletic ability, and in this draft class that’s enough to warrant a top selection."

HashTag Basketball - July 1st: "On offense, if he isn't hitting shots, his movement becomes stagnant, and he ends up just standing on the perimeter for extended periods of time. With that said, Edwards has an incredibly high ceiling."

USA Today - June 25th: "Edwards is an explosive scorer with immediate All-Star ability and two-way upside, making him the front-runner to hear his name called first. In a game against Michigan State, he put up 33 points in one half."

NBA Draft Room - May 26th: "If everything clicks he could end up as one of the top wings in the league. The scoring should translate but he'll need to develop his BBIQ and play with consistent intensity."

Kyle Boone - CBS Sports - May 26th: "He's a freakish athlete who can play off the ball but also create for himself in space when the shot clock is winding down. His youth, athleticism and shot-making ability combined make him one of the most intriguing high-upside prospects in this class"

Jeremy Woo - SI - May 6th: "Despite being relatively raw and on the young end of the spectrum, Edwards owns the best combination of physical tools and shot-creation potential in the draft, and it’s less a matter of whether he eventually gets up to speed than how long it takes him to get there."

Jeff Goodman - Stadium - May 6th: "He’s a big, strong and athletic guard who wasn’t overly efficient, shooting 40 percent from the field and 29 percent from beyond the arc, but he’s capable of getting into the lane and finishing through contact."
