Cole Anthony
Ht/Wt: 6' 3" / 185 lbs
Position: PG
Team: North Carolina
Class: Freshman

2020 Draft Profile - Cole Anthony

Jeremy Woo - Sept. 16th: "Anthony didn’t get to the rim enough, nor did he make the most of those opportunities, and he was streaky from three-point range, creating an inefficient shot profile that’s difficult to sell in the lottery. He’ll surely be more effective at full health and with additional room to operate, and the question is simply to what extent."

Gary Parrish - CBS Sports - July 6th: "The 6-3 point guard's shooting numbers as a freshman leave something to be desired -- but he took so many tough shots, sometimes out of necessity because of a less-than-inspiring supporting cast -- that it's hard to know exactly what to make of them. But, either way, Anthony still averaged 18.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists for the Tar Heels."

NBA Draft Room - July 6th: "He’s got all of the intangibles you want in a point guard including super high BBIQ, leadership qualities, play-making ability and toughness. He’s also a surprisingly bouncy athlete who can put defenders on a poster."

HashTag Basketball - July 1st: "He does a great job of creating space for himself by using creative ball-handling and change-of-pace dribbling. He can shoot from anywhere on the floor but has shown some streakiness despite his smooth shooting form."

USA Today - June 25th: "The Tar Heels had an unexpectedly horrific campaign and Anthony's knee injury played a major part. His lone NCAA season provided enough of a sample size of his tenacity and unique poise. "

NBA Draft Room - May 26th: "Cole missed some time with a right knee injury (meniscus) but got back in the action before the season was cut short. He had a tough freshman year, struggling with his finishing at the rim and with turnovers."

Kyle Boone - CBS Sports - May 26th: "Still, the number of guards who can make shots in an array of ways the way he can should get him looks in the back half of the lottery. The versatility to play either guard spot should really open up his list of suitors."

Jeremy Woo - SI - May 6th: "Anthony’s stock was volatile for much of the season, and while he played better down the back stretch of conference play after returning from injury, he didn’t do enough to fully revive his reputation as a prospect. He’s athletic, capable of making tough shots, and put up big counting stats at North Carolina."

Jeff Goodman - Stadium - May 6th: "His stock dropped this past season due to a combination of factors, including the fact that UNC was terrible, and he shot the ball poorly from the field (38 percent)."
