2020 Draft Profile - Theo Maledon

Jeremy Woo - Sept. 16th: "He still projects as a useful jack-of-all-trades combo guard but lacks one elite skill to hang his hat on at this stage. Maledon is a good shooter, plus athlete, and should be able to hold his own defensively. Although he lacks some dynamism off the dribble, he should do enough to fit into a rotation in some capacity."

Gary Parrish - CBS Sports - July 6th: "Theo Maledon is a skilled athlete, one who previously became the youngest LNB All-Star in history. He missed time with an injury while playing professionally in France this past season and was mostly underwhelming -- although, in fairness, he played better as things progressed."

NBA Draft Room - July 6th: "Maledon is a nice open court player and rangy athlete. He’s kind of long-strider but also has burst and short area quickness. His first step and ability to get downhill and find angles to the basket is impressive."

HashTag Basketball - July 1st: "He has the floor vision and passing instincts of an NBA veteran, and he's always looking to set up his teammates instead of looking for his shot. This can be a detriment because he will pass up open shots, but it will also ingratiate himself with his teammates."

USA Today - June 25th: "Maledon will have plenty of things to work on to adapt to the NBA after playing overseas in France. He needs to bulk up in strength and expand his offensive game, but his defense looks promising."

NBA Draft Room - May 26th: "A well built and explosive athlete with a quick first step. Has all the physical tools to excel in the NBA including nice length and great size/strength at the PG position."

Kyle Boone - CBS Sports - May 26th: "The French guard can play on or off the ball with a vastly improved jumper that should translate early, and I think he can play point guard or shooting guard, where his playmaking and scoring can both shine through. If not for a shoulder injury earlier this season that set him back, we may be talking about Maledon as a top-five-or-so prospect."

Jeremy Woo - SI - May 6th: "Maledon is a good athlete with speed in the open court and has the size and smarts to fit into a complementary ball-handling role, and teams believe strongly in his work ethic, which has helped prevent him from dropping too far on draft boards. He’s not a sexy pick, but he’s young and comes with a good amount of high-level experience."

Jeff Goodman - Stadium - May 6th: "He might not blow you away with any one aspect of his game, but he does everything well. He’s got good size, is quick, can make his teammates better, and can also defend."
