Position: PG
Team: Baylor
Class: Junior

2021 Draft Profile - Jared Butler

James Ham - NBC Sports - Jan. 25th: "Three-pointer? Check. Ability to distribute? Check. NBA body? Check. Butler is one of those veteran college players who makes an impact in the pros."

- Jeremy Woo - Jan 20: "He’s young for a junior and doesn’t turn 21 until August, which makes his trajectory that much more impressive. Butler is a shifty ballhandler and all-around intelligent guard, and projects skill-wise as a long-term winning role player."

Jonathan Wasserman - Bleacher Report - Jan. 14th: "An improved jumper, playmaking and defense are making it easier to look past his lack of explosiveness and defined guard role/position for the next level."

NBA Draft Room - October: "Butler returns to Baylor for his junior season and will be a potential All American candidate on a loaded Baylor team."

Kevin Flaherty - 247 Sports - Sept. 14th: "At the same time, Butler does look like a likely first-round pick because of his creativity with the ball and his form-perfect jumper; if he didn’t have to force the issue at times, he’d likely make better than 40 percent of his long-range attempts, and may this year anyway."

Bryan Kalbrosky - The Rookie Wire - Sept. 1st: "The Louisiana native made 2.6 shots per game from beyond the arc and was prolific when shooting off the catch, off the dribble, off screens and dribble handoffs. He is someone who can play as a combo guard in the NBA and he has recently shown development as a more explosive finisher near the rim, which was one of his rare weaknesses last season. "

HashTag Basketball - July 1st: "Perimeter defense, off-ball shooting, shot creation, it doesn't matter to Butler; he has the skillset to fill any role. On offense, Butler is an incredibly good ball-handler and has no issues creating his own shot, whether it's with a crippling stepback or a knee-buckling crossover."

NBA Draft Room - May 26th: "A shooting and scoring ace who is a bit undersized but has good strength."

Jeremy Woo - SI - May 6th: "He’s not always flashy, but he’s the type of player who grows on you. Butler doesn’t have elite tools, but he’s a terrific ball-handler, shoots it well enough to play on and off and was extremely effective using ball screens. He gives effort defensively and should be able to hold his own."
