2022 Draft Profile - Blake Wesley

Cody Taylor - USA Today - Apr. 9th: "He often beat defenders off the dribble and will bring good size to the next level. He has also shown promise on the defensive end of the floor with his length and athleticism."

Kyle Boone - CBS Sports - Mar. 16th: "He's adept at getting to his spots, creating with the ball in his hands and getting to the line by pressuring the rim. His efficiency has taken a hit of late on the whole and he's still plenty raw as a prospect but there's a lot to like here for someone who is still 18."

Mike Schmitz - ESPN - Mar. 21st: "Wesley is a big-time talent who has NBA feet and shift off the dribble, can get a piece of the paint at will and has at least shown enough off the dribble shooting potential to suggest there's room to improve. With a strong pre-draft process, it's not out of the question that Wesley gets looks throughout the teens, especially if he shoots the ball well."

Bryan Kalbrosky - USA Today - Feb. 16th: "Wesley has struggled with consistency, but he is on the younger side among possible players who will declare for this draft, which gives him an advantage as a long-term developmental prospect"

Kyle Irving - Sporting News - Feb. 11th: "He orchestrates this team's offense in the halfcourt, knowing when to set up his teammates or look for his own shot. He excels as a shot creator, even with an inconsistent jumper, which could be his key to becoming a solidified NBA prospect this year or down the line."

Ricky O'Donnell - SB Nation - Jan. 19th: "A 6’5 guard with a reported 6’11 wingspan, Wesley is a crafty ball handler who has shown some stunning scoring flashes in the pick-and-roll. He has good burst getting downhill, can utilize his length for finishing around the rim, and has unleashed an impressive floater."

Cody Taylor - The Rookie Wire - USA Today - Jan. 19th: "Wesley possesses great athleticism, and has a quick first step, which has often allowed him to blow past defenders. He has proven he can create for himself and others and has excelled in the halfcourt."

Jeremy Woo - SI - Jan. 13th: "While he’s still learning to be efficient, and his jumper needs some work, Wesley offers an attractive developmental slate, with good physical tools and size for a combo guard. He can get downhill effectively, has shown above-average feel for moving the ball, and has a ton of room to expand his offensive game."

Sam Vecenie - The Athletic - Jan. 6th: "The thing that has stood out most to evaluators is Wesley’s comfort in half-court settings getting buckets and creating offense for himself. He is arguably the freshman in this guard class most capable of creating his own look out of ball screens and isolation. The big question, though, is the jumper."
