2022 Draft Profile - Dyson Daniels

Cody Taylor - USA Today - Apr. 9th: "He has impressed with his decision-making throughout the year and his ability to make plays for others. He struggled to shoot from deep, converting on only 25.5% of his 3.6 attempts, but he figures to affect games in a variety of ways at the next level."

Kyle Boone - CBS Sports - Mar. 16th: "… but the 6--6 18-year-old has the skill set of a big guard with good passing skills and the versatility to guard up and down the lineup. Should the shot start falling he has 3-and-D upside as an NBA role player with the potential to add more on offense as a creator and slasher."

Mike Schmitz - ESPN - Feb. 22nd: "But if you view Daniels as more of a secondary ball-handler who can defend three or four positions given his size and defensive instincts, knock down open spot 3s and make reads off second-side pick-and-roll, it's easy to envision him eventually evolving into an NBA starter, potentially sooner than later given his physical tools and mature style of play."

Bryan Kalbrosky - USA Today - Feb. 16th: "Although he still has plenty of areas where he can improve his game, Daniels offers excellent basketball IQ and he has plenty of potential to make a really solid impact once he is an NBA player."

Kyle Irving - Sporting News - Feb. 11th: "He does most of his scoring as a cutter on offense and has shown a knack for playmaking with the ball in his hands, but he needs to fine-tune his jumpshot to truly become a two-way player."

Ricky O'Donnell - SB Nation - Jan. 19th: "He’s shown his skill as something of a jack-of-all-trades wing who projects as a plus defender with tantalizing playmaking flashes. Through the first 14 games of the season, Daniels boasts a 20.5 assist rate, 3 percent steal rate, and 2.25 block rate."

Cody Taylor - The Rookie Wire - USA Today - Jan. 19th: "He has excelled in just about every area of the game with the exception of his shooting: He is converting just 25.5% from beyond the arc. Still, his ability to make plays for others, defend at a high level on the perimeter and make smart decisions should be enough for him to hear his name fairly early on draft night."

NBA Draft Room - Jan. 15th: "Daniels has all the tools and is starting to get comfortable in the G League Ignite."

Jeremy Woo - SI - Jan. 13th: "He has terrific size and has been quite good defensively, and may be able to defend four positions as his frame fills out. Daniels has also proven capable of running offense and distributing the ball in a designated point guard role, and offers some unique two-way value without needing a ton of touches."

Sam Vecenie - The Athletic - Jan. 6th: "He has terrific positional size for the guard position at 6-foot-6, mixed with high-level passing and processing ability. He’s unselfish and smart, while still maintaining the skill level required to make an impact in the NBA."
