2022 Draft Profile - Johnny Davis

Cody Taylor - USA Today - Apr. 9th: "Some may be a bit lower on him. He had an inconsistent finish to the season while playing through an ankle injury. However, the Big Ten Player of the Year showed numerous times how dynamic a scorer he can be and that should translate to the next level."

Kyle Boone - CBS Sports - Mar. 16th: "Would like to see his shooting numbers tick up a bit, especially from 3, but we've got to take into account his situation and the fact that he's No. 1 on opposing teams' scouting reports."

Jonathan Givony - ESPN - Mar. 15th: "Davis' rebounding, defensive versatility and all-around grit stand out in addition to the strides he has made offensively. He is a streaky shooter who gets a lot of his offense in the post, on midrange pull-ups, in transition and while using his aggressiveness, physicality and smarts attacking out of the pick-and-roll."

Bryan Kalbrosky - USA Today - Feb. 16th: "Wisconsin combo guard Johnny Davis, who is averaging 20.3 ppg and plays well out of the pick and roll, makes sense as one of the leading candidates for such an opportunity."

Kyle Irving - Sporting News - Feb. 11th: "Davis has asserted his way onto NBA Draft boards with his shot creation off the bounce, tough shot-making ability and hard-nosed demeanor on the defensive end. His impressive improvements have him firmly planted in all Player of the Year races."

Ricky O'Donnell - SB Nation - Jan. 19th: "Davis lacks top-end athletic burst like Ivey, but he’s excellent at navigating ball screens and getting into his pull-up. He ranks in the 90th percentile as a pick-and-roll handler, and has burned defenders by rejecting screens all season."

Cody Taylor - The Rookie Wire - USA Today - Jan. 19th: "Davis, who was named the 2021 Maui Invitational Tournament MVP, turned in a career performance on Jan. 3 by producing 37 points and 14 rebounds in a win over No. 3 Purdue. He is fifth in Division I in scoring and has proven a dynamic scorer by creating for himself or by working in the mid-range."

NBA Draft Room - Jan. 15th: "Davis is having a big breakout season for the Badgers and is moving up draft boards."

Jeremy Woo - SI - Jan. 13th: "The main concerns surrounding Davis at this point are his size (some teams think he may be a bit shorter than his listed height), his shooting (which is trending up) and whether teams believe he can evolve into an on-ball playmaker (some do, some don’t)."

Sam Vecenie - The Athletic - Jan. 6th: "Scouts love his ability to create off the dribble, his defensive toughness and his shot-making ability off the bounce. But there are some real questions regarding just how consistent and confident he is in his jumper. That’s really the only part of his game that has bouts of inconsistency."
