2022 Draft Profile - Mark Williams

He was also a finalist for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year, and he ranked fifth in the country in total blocks (110)."

Ricky O'Donnell - SB Nation - Apr. 5th: "Williams is a 7-foot center with an enormous 7’7 wingspan who was a vital part of Duke’s march to the Final Four. Williams projects as a lob threat on offense and rim protector on defense who knows how to leverage his length to impact the game."

Kyle Boone - CBS Sports - Mar. 16th: "A big like him who can provide rim protection and finish around the rim should pretty valuable in a draft that's relatively thin at center and there's almost always a role waiting for 7-footers with his type of skill set."

Jonathan Givony - ESPN - Mar. 15 : "The ACC defensive player of the year is one of the best shot-blockers in this draft class and brings a consistent presence as a vertical spacer and an offensive rebounder for Duke, finishing 71% of his field goal attempts, with nearly half of those makes coming on dunks."

Kyle Irving - Sporting News - Feb. 11th: "Williams has been one of the best rim protectors and shot blockers in college basketball and even though he's not super athletic, his length makes him a threat as a lob catcher from the dunker spot on offense."

Cody Taylor - The Rookie Wire - USA Today - Jan. 19th: "Williams, who boasts a 7-foot-5 wingspan, has emerged as an excellent rim protector this season. He is averaging 9.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.4 blocked shots per game on 67.3% shooting from the field."

NBA Draft Room - Jan. 15th: "A defensive minded center with a great NBA frame"

Jeremy Woo - SI - Jan. 13th: "While his actual production has been up and down, there have been strong enough flashes to think that Williams can turn a corner in his development. He’s got great size and hands, runs the floor well, and occupies a lot of space in the paint. He’s also an underrated passer."

Sam Vecenie - The Athletic - Jan. 6th: "He handles the glass with ease on both ends, corralling rebounds for extra possessions. He swats shots and contests them to apply pressure to the opposition. His 7-foot-5-plus wingspan is very difficult to finish over the top of when he’s out there."
