Paolo Banchero
Ht/Wt: 6'10" / 250 lbs
Position: PF/C
Team: Duke
Class: Freshman

2022 Draft Profile - Paolo Banchero

Cody Taylor - USA Today - Apr. 9th: "He was a solid 3-point shooter, converting on 33.8% of his 3.3 attempts, and has a nice form that should enable him to improve with more reps. His size and physicality should translate well to the next level, but he will need to improve as a defender."

Ricky O'Donnell - SB Nation - Apr. 5th: "Banchero displays incredible passing and ball handling at his size, but there are legit concerns for how he fits into certain team contexts if he doesn’t improve his three-point shooting."

Kyle Boone - CBS Sports - Mar. 16th: "He's plenty polished enough to be a scorer early in his career and has a nice, safe floor, though questions about his defense and outside shot may knock him down a rung in the race for this year's No. 1 pick."

Mike Schmitz - ESPN - Apr. 6th: "Banchero's NCAA tournament run should be considered a success, as he averaged 18.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists while shooting 53% from 3 over five games. He's the most polished of the potential top-3 picks and a strong candidate to compete for Rookie of the Year pending his potential new team."

Bryan Kalbrosky - USA Today - Feb. 16th: "...This, however, is not the case as Banchero is averaging 17.0 ppg while generating much of his offensive productivity either by himself in isolation or out of the post."

Kyle Irving - Sporting News - Feb. 11th: "With a soft shooting touch, go-to scoring moves from the perimeter and the post, and all the physical tools to succeed on both ends of the floor at the next level, he's as NBA-ready as any player in this class."

Ricky O'Donnell - SB Nation - Jan. 19th: "Banchero is the likeliest bet in this draft class to become a primary offensive option in the NBA. At 6’10, 250 pounds, Banchero combines raw power, advanced footwork, and soft shooting touch to form a dynamic scoring arsenal that should translate seamlessly to the next level."

Cody Taylor - The Rookie Wire - USA Today - Jan. 19th: "He has proven capable of scoring from all three levels, from spotting up beyond the arc to working inside the paint. He has proven very effective in the mid-range, often creating space with his patented jab-step move."

NBA Draft Room - Jan. 15th: "Paolo lacks elite upside but he’s very mucho a known commodity who will be a bucket getter in the NBA."

Jeremy Woo - SI - Jan. 13th: "He has a superb combination of size, strength and ball skills, and has the makings of a potential high-usage offensive fulcrum who can do damage from all over the floor. Banchero is a streaky jump shooter, but there are games and moments where his shot-making chops are highly convincing."

Sam Vecenie - The Athletic - Jan. 6th: "He’s as polished a mismatch nightmare offensively at 6-foot-10 as I can remember evaluating. He’s a monster mid-/high-post option who knows exactly how to get his defender off balance."
