2023 Draft Profile - Cason Wallace

Kyle Irving - Sporting News - June 21st: "Wallace is one of the most reliable guard prospects in this draft class as a tenacious on-ball defender, sound decision maker and growing scorer."

Gary Parrish - CBS Sports - June 20th: "Wallace checks those boxes and should be an above-average point-of-attack defender the moment he enters the NBA after one season at Kentucky in which he finished fourth in the SEC in steals per game."

NBA Draft Room - May 16th: "A high level guard prospect with great defensive instincts. Might be the best defensive player in this draft. Has a nice scoring touch in the lane and can hit the 3."

John Fanta - Fox Sports - May 12: "His commitment and intensity on the defensive end of the floor at the age of 19 is way beyond his years, and he has an offensive game that carries some burst. There are some things to get figured out in the scoring column, but he bothers people in the way that he guards and that helped the Wildcats get on track."

Tyler Byrum and Chase Hughes - NBC Sports - May 8th: "Wallace appears to be a safe bet to have a long and successful career as an NBA point guard. He's got the size (6-4), skillset and motor that suggests a very high floor."

Bryan Kalbrosky - For the Win - May 5th: "Wallace shot just 34.6 percent on 3-pointers for Kentucky, which wasn’t fantastic. But he was 24-for-57 (42.1 percent) on 3-pointers from the NBA distance, via Stats Perform. According to CBB Analytics, he also shot 15-for-31 (48.4 percent) on corner 3-pointers."

Krysten Peek - Yahoo! Sports - Jan. 30th: "Wallace appears much more comfortable as the primary ballhandler and even though Kentucky recently lost to No. 8 Kansas, Wallace was one of the most productive guards on both ends of the floor, creating for his teammates dishing out five assists and forcing five steals."

Chase Hughes - NBC Sports - Jan. 16: "He's an excellent defender at the point of attack, he shoots it well from three and he's got a good feel for passing in terms of his timing and creativity. He also plays with a level of energy and emotion that suggests he's a competitive player who loves the game."

Jonathan Wasserman - Bleacher Report - Jan. 5th: "While scouts try to assess the height of Wallace's ceiling, they're comfortable with the floor tied to his passing IQ (55 assists, 24 turnovers), shooting accuracy (45.6 percent 3PT) and signature defensive pressure/anticipation (2.3 steals per game)."
