2023 Draft Profile - Dariq Whitehead

Jonathan Wasserman - Bleacher Report - June 21st: "Dariq Whitehead just underwent a secondary surgery to fix an unhealed foot injury, which was completed by Nets’ physician Dr. Martin O’Malley. Prior to the procedure, he’d met with late-lottery teams and multiple teams that have two or more first-rounders, per sources."

Kyle Irving - Sporting News - June 21st: "Whitehead is a three-level scoring threat who could be a diamond in the rough for any team in the late first round who is willing to look past his injury history and bank on his potential."

Gary Parrish - CBS Sports - June 20th: "Whitehead would be an interesting option if he falls this far considering he has good positional size and shot 42.4% from 3-point range in his one season at Duke."

NBA Draft Room - May 16th: "Dariq is a 5-star talent but a second foot surgery will hurt his draft stock. Hopefully he can get back to full health and regain his form."

John Fanta - Fox Sports - May 12: "While injuries led to an up-and-down season with the Blue Devils, Whitehead was still a dynamic talent when he did get on the floor and could change the game with his shot-making (43% from 3)."

Tyler Byrum and Chase Hughes - NBC Sports - May 8th: "A drive-heavy guard who had no issues navigating the lane at the college level, Whitehead will hope his build and athleticism will carry him far in the draft process."

Bryan Kalbrosky - For the Win - May 5th: "While he had a slow start to the season due to injuries, Duke’s Dariq Whitehead was likely able to play his way back into top-20 consideration as the season progressed."

Chase Hughes - NBC Sports - Jan. 16: "He has shown potential on both ends of the floor with a good motor to match his athletic traits, but will have to develop his shooting and dribbling to lock in his status as a top draft prospect."

Jonathan Wasserman - Bleacher Report - Jan. 5th: "Gradually answering questions about his shot selection, finishing and shooting consistency should help scouts gain back confidence in evaluators preseason scouting which suggested that Whitehead possessed star scoring potential."
