Position: PF
Team: South Carolina
Class: Freshman

2023 Draft Profile - Gregory Jackson II

Jonathan Wasserman - Bleacher Report - June 21st: "GG Jackson will draw looks from teams in the teens who see upside in an 18-year-old forward who can create for himself, hit specialty jumpers and shoot 3s. He’s also a candidate to slip given his lengthier NBA-ready timeline, inefficient scoring and suspect decision-making and defense."

NBA Draft Room - May 16th: "Jackson is the youngest prospect in this class. He’s an ultra-talented shot-maker who has some holes in his game but has plenty of time to figure it all out."

John Fanta - Fox Sports - May 12: "Jackson needs time to mature and become a better playmaker and teammate. Effort came into question in his year in college."

Tyler Byrum and Chase Hughes - NBC Sports - May 8th: "He's fast and mobile at 6-foot-9 with the ability to create off the dribble, but he shot sub-40% from the field and is not particularly good at shooting from anywhere on the court, even at the free throw line."

Bryan Kalbrosky - For the Win - May 5th: "G.G. Jackson is the youngest player in this draft class, and he won’t even yet turn 19 years old when the next NBA season begins. Once the consensus best collegiate prospect in his class, Jackson decided to forgo his senior year of high school and reclassify to play for South Carolina last season."

Krysten Peek - Yahoo! Sports - Jan. 30th: "Even through he's a bit of a streaky shooter, his production on and off the block and potential at the next level outweigh what his stat line says for the season."

Tyler Byrum - NBC Sports - Jan. 16: "With the Gamecocks, the 6-foot-9 forward provides the electricity and show-stopping ability seen on the travel circuit. If he can corral that into success in a half-court system, the sky could be the limit on his potential."

Jonathan Wasserman - Bleacher Report - Jan. 5th: "For a 6'9" 18-year-old, Jackson's handle for creation, shooting versatility, athletic finishes and energy should be enough to convince lottery teams to look past inefficiency, questionable shot selection and limited passing/defensive numbers."
