Jarace Walker
Ht/Wt: 6' 8" / 249 lbs
Position: PF
Team: Houston
Class: Freshman

2023 Draft Profile - Jarace Walker

Gary Parrish - CBS Sports - June 20th: "Walker will enter the NBA with incredible physical attributes and should be more immediately capable of making an impact defensively than offensively. In time, he'll be able to play the four and some small-ball five, and All-Star Game appearances are possible if the former Houston standout's offensive game develops as he grows older."

NBA Draft Room - May 16th: "A burly PF with broad shoulders and brute strength. Rebounds the ball well and can defend all over the court. A high level passer who can create for others."

John Fanta - Fox Sports - May 12: "At 240 pounds, he imposed his physical presence on opposing teams at a high level, showing that he's an NBA-ready defender. Walker's motor will never come into question. The concern is that opposing defenses could play off him because his shot is a weak link at the moment."

Tyler Byrum and Chase Hughes - NBC Sports - May 8th: "Already, he has the power and body to match up against current NBA stars. The little playmaking he does show with the ball in his hand also is a look into what he could develop into."

Bryan Kalbrosky - For the Win - May 5th: "Houston’s Jarace Walker, the American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year, is one of the most promising defensive prospects in this draft class. He is capable of guarding either the ball handler or the screener in pick-and-roll actions, which will translate well to the next level."

Krysten Peek - Yahoo! Sports - Jan. 30th: "He has one of the most NBA-ready bodies in this draft class with his solid 240-pound frame and moves well for his size. Walker's versatility to drop down as a five in a small-ball lineup and quickness to step out and guard the wing makes him one of the most intriguing players in the draft."

Chase Hughes - NBC Sports - Jan. 16: "Walker is a powerful athlete with a fairly versatile skillset. He can defend, rebound and finish around the rim. He is probably best suited to join a team that needs a physical defender like him and that has some patience to develop his offense."

Jonathan Wasserman - Bleacher Report - Jan. 5th: "Inconsistent offense has led to some scouts questioning Walker's scoring potential, but 6'8", 235-pound size, versatility and defensive upside will keep interest from fading."
