DaRon Holms
Ht/Wt: 6' 9" / 236 lbs
Position: PF/C
Team: Dayton
Class: Junior

2024 Draft Profile - DaRon Holms II

Kevin O'Connor - The Ringer - June 17th: "Shot blocking is his best defensive skill. He’s agile in small spaces and perceptive; he keeps his head on a swivel and hustles for second and third efforts on possessions. He also can step out as a disruptive perimeter defender who slides his feet with his arms spread wide."

NBA Draft Room - June 16th: "A well rounded big man who can bang in the paint and step out and hit the 3. Not the sexiest player but beats you with fundamentals."

Sam Vecenie - The Athletic - June 5th: "He’s a versatile big who has a lot of answers for opponents’ ball-screen coverages. He can pick-and-pop, short roll to pass, short roll to finish himself or dive all the way to the rim to catch a lob. Defensively, he’s a good shot blocker and has flashed potential to stick with guards for a couple of slides on the perimeter."

Colin Ward-Henninger - CBS Sports - June 4th: "He plays much bigger than his 6-foot-9 frame, as a smart roller and finisher who can also pop out to 3-point range. Holmes isn't going to create his own shot very often."

Zach Buckley - Bleacher Report - June 4th: "DaRon Holmes II isn't huge (6'9", 236 lbs), but he plays big as a shot-blocker and rebounder while also adding shot-making on the offensive end."

Jonathan Wasserman - Bleacher Report - May 30th: "DaRon Holmes II made plenty of jump shots during shooting drills at the combine. And more strong shooting during workouts will continue to help, as scouts have been debating how much to buy this year's 38.6 percent mark from three."

Kevin O'Connor - The Ringer - March 18th: "Throwback big who can block shots and finish lobs, with the benefit of modern switchability."

Jonathan Wasserman - Bleacher Report - March 6th: "There is some debate among scouts about how translatable the new skills are, but teams still sound interested enough in his athleticism and production around the basket to draft him, even if the new shot or dribble moves don’t come with him."

NBA Draft Room - March 5th: "An interior focused big who rebounds and defends well and can score in the paint."
