2024 Draft Profile - Reed Shepard

Kevin O'Connor - The Ringer - June 17th: "He might be small, but he makes a massive defensive impact with incredible instincts and quick hands. He’s a nuisance on the ball who can bother any ball handler and a playmaker off of it, intercepting cross-court feeds, swiping at passing lanes, and blowing up actions by being a step ahead of screeners."

NBA Draft Room - June 16th: "He’s an elite 3pt shooter with high BBIQ and feel for the game and he finished the season shooting a ridiculous 52% from 3pt land. He’s also a pesky defender with great hands, who plays with intensity. He has some limitations but the production is off the charts and the tape doesn’t lie."

Jeremy Woo - ESPN - June 7th: "His impressive freshman season and elite shooting numbers have helped him to break the mold for a guard his size and put him at or near the top of many analytics models, helping to frame the conversation around his upside."

Sam Vecenie - The Athletic - June 5th: "His stock is polarizing among teams, with more analytically inclined organizations seeing him as a No. 1 pick contender and others viewing him more as a late lottery pick due to his lack of size."

Colin Ward-Henninger - CBS Sports - June 4th: "He's equally adept off the catch and off the dribble, landing in the 99th percentile in both areas during his only college season, per Synergy Sports. Sheppard may not be the best shot creator, but he's more than capable of being a secondary playmaker and is an underrated defender who should be able to hold his own at the NBA level."

Zach Buckley - Bleacher Report - June 4th: "Reed Sheppard is more than a shooting specialist—the eye-opening hops he showed at the combine were the latest evidence of that—but Houston would be first and foremost drawn to his fireball. During his one-and-one run with the Wildcats, he launched 144 perimeter shots and converted them at a ridiculous 52.1 percent clip."

Jonathan Wasserman - Bleacher Report - May 30th: "... elite shooting, passing and intangibles/character that scouts and executives praised after interviewing him at the NBA combine."
