Position: SF
Team: Virgina
Class: Soph.

2024 Draft Profile - Ryan Dunn

Kevin O'Connor - The Ringer - June 17th: "He has closing speed to run shooters off the line, or block drivers from behind in the paint. He’s intelligent, often blowing up opponents’ plays. And with his versatility, he can switch to effectively contain opponents of any shape or style."

NBA Draft Room - June 16th: "A truly elite defender with awesome instincts and defensive play-making ability but really struggles on the offensive end."

Colin Ward-Henninger - CBS Sports - June 4th: "Some might not see Dunn as a first-rounder due to his total lack of offensive production in college, but he's the type of game-changing defender who can immediately carve out an NBA role."

Jonathan Wasserman - Bleacher Report - May 30th: "Ryan Dunn didn't crush athletic testing like his highlights suggested he might. Still, the eye test overrules the numbers and times. His defensive court coverage and play-disrupting around the basket led to some wild steal and block rates."

Kevin O'Connor - The Ringer - March 18th: "The best defender in this class, a player who can lock down multiple positions and get stops anywhere on the floor."

Jeff Zillgitt and Scooby Axson - USA Today - March 12th: "Dunn excels in transition but will need to improve his outside shot. Outstanding defender on the ball and as a shot-blocker using his length, strength and athleticism."

Jonathan Wasserman - Bleacher Report - March 6th: "Ten straight games without a double-digit scoring effort is making it difficult for scouts to fall in love with Ryan Dunn. Still, his explosiveness for play-finishing and defensive court coverage may be special enough for a team in the 20s to picture an outlier and specialist."

Jonathan Givony - ESPN - March 5th: "He is unequivocally the best defender in college basketball, but Dunn has not taken the step forward many hoped he would on the other end of the floor, as he currently ranks among the bottom of the class in usage and scoring rate while hitting just 7 of 32 attempts from 3 and only 53% of his free throws."
