Jeremy Woo - ESPN - March 25th: "He also turned in his best stat line of the season in an SEC tournament loss to Oklahoma the week before (21 points and 17 rebounds). His motor and production on the offensive glass have helped his case, but NBA teams will point to his inconsistent defensive contributions as they evaluate where he lands on their final draft boards."

NBA Draft Room - March 22nd: "Newell is a hyper-active big forward with springs in his legs. He works hard on the court and does all the dirty work. Is very efficient with his touches and can hit the 3-ball."

Jonathan Giovany - ESPN - March 13th: "Some questions persist regarding his perimeter shooting, defensive versatility and feel for the game, as he is somewhat of a jack of all trades who is caught between positions with his average length. Nonetheless, he has a solid floor and upside to grow into at 19 years old."

USA Today - March 11th: "Based off of his size, Newell wouldn’t appear to be as quick and fluid as he is, which should make him an instant threat in pick-and-roll situations. He was one of the lone bright spots for the Bulldogs in a loss against No. 1 Auburn with a team-high 20 points."
