2025 Draft Profile - Collin Murray-Boyles
The Ringer - May 27th: "He can rumble into a blitz, creating havoc for the ball handler with his quick hands and broad frame; he can operate in the two-man game himself as either the initiator or the roller. He has the quickest hands in the class and would be a terror as a help defender digging at the nail."NBA Draft Room - May 22nd: "If things go right for him he’s got a chance to be one of the best defenders in the league and a unique offensive player with excellent passing vision and good scoring touch in a burly 6-7 frame. I see him as a likely starter but his upside is as a multiple time All Star."
Kevin O'Connor - Yahoo! Sports - May 12th: "Murray-Boyles operates like a defensive savant the way he locks down every position, uses his ninja-quick hands to swipe at the ball and inhales rebounds. He’s a special defensive presence, and offensively he’s a bulldozer finisher with a playmaking feel."
NBA Draft Room - March 22nd: "A burly combo forward with an impressive offensive package who is also a standout on the defensive end. Has great touch in the lane and very good passing vision."
Jeremy Woo - ESPN - March 13th: "It's hard to pin South Carolina's 12-19 season all on Murray-Boyles, who was productive during conference play (16.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.5 steals, 1.3 blocks) despite being the focal point for opposing defenses. Though he doesn't have great size for his position, his toughness, feel, and motor are all attractive role-player qualities that should scale well into a complementary context."
Kyle Boone - CBS Sports - March 12th: "The old-school style of Murray-Boyles' game has been a smashing success in the SEC, where at South Carolina he has developed into one of the sport's most dynamic two-way players. He plays bigger than his listed size and wins with physicality on both ends of the floor."
Jonathan Wasserman - Bleacher Report - March 11th: "Even without a jump shot, he continues to have success facing up defenders, overpowering them downhill and using footwork and big hands in the paint. Though the 8-of-32 mark from three isn't likely to convince many scouts that he's on his way to becoming a shooter, he may not have to be with how effective he is using his 245-pound frame, length, instincts and improvisation."
USA Today - March 11th: "Although he’s a bit undersized at 6-foot-8 for a power forward, Murray-Boyles plays with intense effort and determination, which will very quickly please his NBA coaches. He also has plenty of strength to finish at the rim and was the SEC's No. 3 rebounder."
