2025 Draft Profile - Hugo Gonzalez

The Ringer - May 27th: "His live dribble is smooth, as if the ball and his hand are one. But while his gait and movement are also fluid, there are some concerns about his pace. That’s partly because he still hasn’t fully earned respect as a shooter (aside from single-event hot streaks, he’s hovered in the high 20, low 30 percent range on 3s); defenses typically soft close on him or just ignore him entirely."

Kyle Boone - CBS Sports - May 23rd: "Gonzalez hasn't played or produced much for Real Madrid this season, which is mostly the product of being a 19 year old on a first-place team in a legitimate professional league. But the athleticism and high-motor that's made him an intriguing prospect for years still exists and should be enough to get him in or very near the first round of this year's draft."

NBA Draft Room - May 22nd: "Hugo has been one of the top players in his age group for a few years but has been sort of a forgotten name in this draft cycle after not seeing much playing time for a veteran-laden Real Madrid team. I love his tools and competitive fire and think he could be one of the pleasant surprises of this draft when we look back in a few years."

Kevin O'Connor - Yahoo! Sports - May 12th: "Gonzalez is a high-motor wing with great defensive tools and a slashing style on offense. If his jumper and handle develop, he could be a versatile two-way starter. But he barely even played off the bench overseas."

NBA Draft Room - March 22nd: "He’s a talented shot maker, passer and has a special feel for the game. He moves well off the ball, is a great cutter and is a very capable play-maker/initiator as well."

Jeremy Woo - ESPN - March 13th: "Though his production hasn't been great, his ability to fit in alongside more experienced talent at a good level in Europe at age 19 is noteworthy. It'll be interesting to see how teams view the suboptimal context of his season, and it's unclear how much of the predraft process he'll be available for, with Madrid's season potentially running into June."
