2025 Draft Profile - Jeremiah Fears
The Ringer - May 27th: "The ability to consistently pressure the rim is one of the most sought-after skills in basketball, and Fears has a natural blend of top-end speed, slithery pacing, and relentless attitude. He has some of the hard parts down pat. The rest is a work in progress. "Kyle Boone - CBS Sports - May 23rd: "He's an electric factory with the ball in his hands who can run an offense and get downhill, and no one in the class has more command of the ball as a handler than him."
NBA Draft Room - May 22nd: "Fears is a force on the offensive end who always gives you the feeling he’s about to do something spectacular. He’s got a great combination of craftiness and athletic pop, which makes him very hard to keep out of the lane."
Kevin O'Connor - Yahoo! Sports - May 12th: "Fears is a dynamic guard with a twitchy attacking style and a knack for coming through as a clutch shooter. He was one of college basketball’s youngest freshmen, and it showed with his shaky decision-making as a shooter and passer."
Jonathan Givony - ESPN - March 25th: "Fears' season ended with a first-round loss to UConn, a game in which he was the clear-cut best player, leading all scorers with 20 points. His outstanding creativity and ability to get where he wanted with his jittery handle and play at different speeds were evident."
NBA Draft Room - March 22nd: "He’s dynamic with the ball in his hands and can get buckets in a hurry. He does a great job of penetrating into the lane and can score from three levels, although his 3pt shot is streaky."
Jeremy Woo - ESPN - March 13th: "His youth at 18, competitive nature and flashes of improvement this season have put him in lottery conversations, despite his need for physical development and defensive improvement. Teams in search of playmaking will have to consider him early in the draft."
Kyle Boone - CBS Sports - March 12th: "A recent 31-point offensive explosion vs. No. 15 Missouri served as a perfect example of the upside and promise of Fears. His game is not without warts -- he's shooting 27.5% from 3-point range -- but his burst and advanced ball-handling are foundations for what could be a star in the making."
Jonathan Wasserman - Bleacher Report - March 11th: "A shaky jumper at 18 years old has made it tough for Jeremiah Fears to consistently score with efficiency. But performances like his 31-point, five-assist game against Missouri will encourage patience. NBA teams will value how effective his ball-handling and burst are for getting to spots and putting pressure on the defense and rim."
USA Today - March 11th: "Solid start to his freshman season; quick on the dribble; has strength going to the rim and can finish; operates well in the pick-and-roll as a scorer and passer; needs to improve his 3-point shot but potential is there."
